How to Research at the Briscoe Center
In-person research in our Sid Richardson Hall Reading Room currently is available by appointment only. To get started, contact us and choose Reference from the Nature of Inquiry drop-down menu. In the space provided, give a detailed description of your research interest and indicate if you want to make an in-person appointment. Our staff can help you locate materials and, depending on the most effective research option, place a digitization order or make an appointment for you to use the materials in our Reading Room. We can also help you create a researcher account and request materials for your visit.
If you are unable to physically visit the Briscoe Center reading room, and require a proxy researcher to research on your behalf, please consult one of the proxy researchers available on the proxy researcher list. If you are interested in becoming a proxy researcher, please fill out this survey.
Another option is to call our reference staff at (512) 495-4166 and leave a message. A reference staff member will get back in touch with you.
If you need help locating materials, or have questions about our policies or services, you can Contact Us.
