Created and hosted by the Briscoe Center in 2018, the Dan Rather: American Journalist project website features a broad selection of materials that document the extraordinary career of one of America’s most important television reporters. Using primary sources housed at the center, as well as other repositories, the project organizes production notes, video clips, transcripts of shows, press reviews, photographs, and artifacts, as well as oral interviews with Rather’s former collaborators. The result is a comprehensive overview of Rather’s career, which illustrates both the evolution of broadcast news and the major flashpoints of American history over the last half century.
