The Military History Institute is an educational outreach and archival program within the Briscoe Center for American History. Spearheaded by WWII historian and scholar Thomas M. Hatfield, the Military History Institute collects, preserves, and makes available for research documents, materials, photographs, and artifacts related to key American military engagements, particularly World War II. In addition, the Institute conducts symposia, lectures, and conferences to preserve and disseminate knowledge of American military history, publishes original research, and hosts educational programs for teachers and students.
