The center’s Exhibit Hall showcased the work of photographer R. C. Hickman (1918–2007) to commemorate the centenary of Hickman’s birth and also the 25th anniversary of the Briscoe Center’s book Behold the People: R. C. Hickman’s Photographs of Black Dallas, 1949–1961. A companion exhibit was also displayed at Dallas City Hall.
