Save the Date: “An Evening in Old Uvalde”
The Friends of the Briscoe–Garner Museum and UT Austin’s Briscoe Center for American History present “An Evening in Old Uvalde” on Saturday, April 23, 2016.
Ticketed guests will enjoy a private reception under the oak trees of the Briscoe–Garner Museum, with entertainment by the Camille Sanders Trio. Dolph Briscoe IV will provide remarks, and guests will be able to view the special exhibit, Deep in the Heart: Texas-Themed Quilts from the Winedale Quilt Collection. Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum.

The Friends of the Briscoe–Garner Museum is composed of Uvalde community members dedicated to supporting the Briscoe–Garner Museum. The purpose of the group is to provide financial and volunteer support of the programs, projects and activities of the museum.
The Briscoe–Garner Museum is dedicated to the remarkable lives of U.S. Vice President John Nance “Cactus Jack” Garner and Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe Jr., both Uvalde legends and historically important Texas politicians. The Briscoe Center for American History is a research unit at the University of Texas at Austin. The center collects, preserves and makes available historical evidence to scholars, students and members of the public.
