Nineteenth-Century Folklife Christmas at Winedale on December 13, 2014

ROUND TOP, Texas — Join us for “Christmas at Winedale,” Saturday, December 13, 2014, from noon to 4 p.m. Take a ride on horse drawn carriages and wagons as you view the way the countryside might have looked in the mid-1800s with historic homes, a one-room schoolhouse and folk life demonstrations. Admission is free and open to the public.
Tour decorated historic homes and enjoy demonstrations of blacksmithing, quilting, weaving, spinning, rope-making, basket-weaving, wood-working, pottery, lace making, pioneer encampment and much more. Children’s activities include old-fashioned crafts, games, hands-on chores and kid-friendly farm animals. You might even see our Weihnachtsmann (German Santa Claus)!
Featured entertainment will include The German Singers, Star of Texas Dulcimers, Celtaire String Band, Shakespeare players, story tellers, folk musicians, folk dancers and more. Food and drinks will be available for sale.
