Mr. Joseph W. Royce

Joe Royce practices law in Houston with the firm of Gray Reed & McGraw, primarily in the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration, and is also involved in the administration of charitable foundations. He was born and raised in Tyler and received an undergraduate degree in history from Southwestern University and then a law degree from The University of Texas. While in law school, he was employed at the same office as council member Robbin Dawson.
As a representative of the William and Madeline Welder Smith Foundation, Mr. Royce helped establish the William A. and Madeline Welder Smith Endowment at the Briscoe Center, which provides travel grants to scholars outside of Austin to conduct research at the center. In 2017 Mr. Royce became a trustee of the Phi Delta Theta Foundation.
