The Honorable Michael A. Andrews

Former Congressman Michael Andrews was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1982 and represented a Houston-area district in the U.S. House of Representatives for 12 years. Mr. Andrews is currently senior counsel in Government Advocacy and Government and Internal Investigations with King & Spalding, LLP. Mr. Andrews holds a bachelor’s degree in history from The University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from Southern Methodist University.
Mr. Andrews is a trustee emeritus of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and an author of a widely recognized book about the restoration of historic public buildings, Historic Texas Courthouses (2006). Mr. Andrews donated his personal and public service archive to the collection of the Briscoe Center in 1996.
Mr. Andrews recently moved back to Houston with his wife, Ann Bowman Andrews. They have two daughters, Emily Andrews, who holds a bachelor’s degree in history from The University of Texas at Austin, and Caroline Macdonald, a graduate of Duke University and Columbia Business School.
