Comprised of leadership volunteers dedicated to the Briscoe Center’s unique collections, ambassadors council members assist the director by helping foster a wide understanding of the importance of primary source materials to the study of American history. By serving as a bridge to the broader public, council members help build awareness of, and private contributions for, the Briscoe Center and its five priorities: collection development, research, teaching, programs, and historic sites.
Approximately 35 council members from across the United States, with many members from Austin, Houston, and New York City, serve as ambassadors for the Briscoe Center.
