Ms. Jane P. Hilfer

Jane Hilfer is originally from Amarillo, Texas, and has lived in Austin since 1962. As a former professional administrator and consultant, she has worked in the fields of government, education, the arts, mental health, fundraising, and nonprofit management.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in English, she joined the Ambassadors Council for the Briscoe Center in 2009, served as chair from 2013 to 2016, and currently serves as chair of the development committee.
Ms. Hilfer is a founding member of the Director’s Circle at the Briscoe Center. In memory of her husband, she created the Tony Hilfer Professorship in American and British Literature for the Department of English at UT Austin in 2008. Since 2012, she has served as a member of the UT Austin Development Board and currently serves as a member of the UT Austin English Department Advisory Committee. She is also a member of The Open Forum, an Austin women’s research organization.
