John Summers gives talk on C. Wright Mills

Event: Free public lecture by John Summers, visiting scholar at the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life at Boston College. Talk coincides with the opening of the C. Wright Mills Papers at the Center for American History. Summers will bring his insights to the ground-breaking work of C. Wright Mills, one of the twentieth century’s preeminent sociologists and intellectuals.

Background: The Center for American History and the Department of American Studies are the event cosponsors. Through stewardship, scholarship, and outreach, the Center for American History increases knowledge and fosters exploration of our nation’s past. The Department of American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the myriad historical and contemporary cultures of the United States, in both domestic and transnational settings.
