Winedale Historical Complex, Round Top, Texas
There are thousands of pieced quilt patterns and nearly every one of them has one name, if not more. This exhibition of more than 20 quilts revisited a group of patterns often seen in quilts—plus one original design from 1975—and offered some of the history of each pattern and its name. Focusing on patterns and their names is one of the many ways to look at and learn about quilts. It is also an excellent opportunity to explore how quilts illuminate our past.
